Wilson’s Winners: Making picks on short week

Don’t worry. I didn’t forget my football picks for the week. Even though it was a short week with Monday Night Football and all.

Vanderbilt’s off, preparing for the big game against Florida on Nov. 8. But everybody else around here is raring to go.

Goodpasture at CPA: Goodpasture has beaten CPA in Week 10 three years in a row. It’s CPA’s turn this time. The CPA passing attack has been productive, and it will be tonight. CPA 27, Goodpasture 21

Tennessee at South Carolina: It’s amazing that no one really cares about a Steve Spurrier-Phillip Fulmer battle and that the game won’t matter a hill of beans in the SEC East race. But USC has been playing well lately, and they’re at home. South Carolina 24, Tennessee 16

Tennessee State vs. Tennessee Tech: The Tigers have to be steaming mad about losing at SEMO last week. Tech’s struggled this year and heading into the Tigers’ lair isn’t the best way to get on the right track. TSU 34, Tenn. Tech 17

Florida vs. Georgia: I really can’t explain why, but I’ve just been more impressed with Florida this season. I think their best is better than Georgia’s best. Florida 35, Georgia 27

Titans vs. Packers: It’s a short week after an emotional Monday night win. The Packers are tough, and this could be the game where the Titans stumble. But I still don’t think you go against the Titans’ defense at home. Titans 23, Packers 20
