Quarterback Vince Young did not finish Wednesday’s practice after he slipped on the wet field toward the end of practice.
As a precaution, the Titans elected to have Kerry Collins run the first-team offense in two-minute drills and let Ingle Martin handle the second group.
“He set up and slipped a little bit, he’s fine. He got a little tight and didn’t pull anything, just got a little tight so we backed him out,” Titans coach Fisher said.
Young made some good throws, but had a couple of other passes that were off the mark to open receivers.
OUT AGAIN: The left side of the defensive line was missing in Wednesday’s practice, as Jevon Kearse missed a second straight day because of a tweak in his left knee.
“He just fell on his knee, so we backed him down. He’s fine,” Fisher said. “We’ll see how he is. I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t [practice Thursday].”
Also, defensive tackle Tony Brown was given a day off from Wednesday’s workout as well.
VISITORS: Sylvester Croom and some of his Mississippi State coaching staff were on hand visiting Baptist Sports Park on Wednesday.
“I’d hadn’t actually seen him since I left down there,” offensive tackle David Stewart said of his college coach. “We ate lunch and went over a few things.”
MORE VISITORS: A group of orphans from Estonia attended Wednesday’s practice as well, and were addressed by Titans left tackle Michael Roos, who is a native of the country.
FUTURE VISITORS: Former Jacksonville and Atlanta quarterback Byron Leftwich will visit the Titans and workout on Thursday, along with a host of free agent wide receivers. Included among the receivers were former Texan Jerome Mathis, Titus Ryans and Dorrian Bryant.
Fisher indicated the Titans have no plans to sign Leftwich, and are working him out to add him to their contingency list.
ROUGH DAY: Running back Chris Henry had a tough day catching the football, bobbling and dropping consecutive screen passes in Wednesday’s practice.
