Police arrest murder suspect
Metro police have arrested Chawnsi Lecoya Dowell, 20, of 943 W. Eastland Ave., whom they have charged with a Saturday shooting.
Dowell was arrested Sunday night for the death of Demarcus Donte Stewart, 18, of 622 N. Ninth St. Stewart sustained several gunshot wounds when Dowell allegedly broke into his home.
Stewart was still alive when relatives discovered his body hours later; he died Saturday night after being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Stewart was able to give details about the break-in before his death; police expect future arrests since other people were with Dowell upon entering Stewart
