Groundbreaking and construction plans for a new multi-purpose center at Belmont University are expected to be announced this morning at a press conference with university president Dr. Robert C. Fisher.
Fisher will be joined by legendary entertainer Eddy Arnold, but the university would not confirm reports that the center would be named for Arnold. Arnold is an artist with the Curb Records label, and Belmont already has the Mike Curb School of Music Business, named for the Curb founder.
Arnold, a longtime Nashvillian, has had a 55-year career in music with more than 70 million records sold. There is speculation that he, through Curb Records, may be a supporting sponsor of the new facility.
