Sunshine suit dismissed
The Tennessee Court of Appeals ruled yesterday that the legislature did not act illegally when some of its members met behind closed doors to hammer out a state budget last year.
After the session ended, private citizen Mark Mayhew brought suit against the legislature and Lt. Gov. John Wilder. Mayhew, a law student and former television journalist, asked that the legislature reconvene to pass a budget in public and also that it never be allowed to meet outside the public
