It would be the first park in Davidson County in which dogs would be allowed to run free. The Department of Parks and Recreation implements a leash law in virtually all of its 96 properties.
Steve Verner, chairman of ReDiscover East!s Parks and Greenways Committee, said he asked East Nashville resident Terry Lackey to send out a survey Monday to East Nashville e-mail list serves to determine interest after Lackey brought up the issue at a ReDiscover East! public forum last spring.
Lackey released her initial findings on the feasibility of a dog park at a ReDiscover East! Parks and Greenways Committee meeting last week, which prompted the committee to launch a survey to determine how many residents would support the idea.
