LifePoint Hospitals Inc. is acquiring Province Healthcare Co. in a deal valued at $1.7 billion. Both publicly traded companies are located in Brentwood.
The transaction will consist of $1.13 billion in cash and stock. The remainder of the sale price will come from debt assumption.
The purchase price of Province stock is set at $22.66 a share, which is a 66 percent premium based on Friday
