The accolades continue to pile up for rookie quarterback Vince Young, who on Wednesday was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Young rallied the Titans to a 30-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills Sunday by completing 13 of 20 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed eight times for 61 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown scramble in the second quarter.
Young, a leading candidate for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, is now 8-4 as a starting quarterback and has guided the Titans to a six-game winning streak.
In doing so, Young has quieted many critics, who questioned things like his throwing motion and abilities to execute a pro-style offense from under center, and those who thought he would be a long-term developmental project.
