According to a league source, Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher’s contract extension could be on the verge of completion relatively soon, barring unforeseen complications.
Fisher, the NFL’s longest tenured coach with one team, is entering his 13th full season with the franchise.
According to the source, most of Fisher’s contract was ironed out over the past two weeks at the start of training camp, with only the final details needing to be completed in order to consummate a deal.
Fisher has said in the past that he expected the contract situation to be completed without any major hurdles, and has reiterated that point since the start of training camp.
Fisher, 49, is the winningest coach in Titans franchise history with a record of 105-93 in the regular season plus a 5-4 playoff record that includes an AFC Championship in 1999 and a berth in Super Bowl XXXIV.
Details of the contract are not known.
