Rookie first-round pick Michael Griffin got in his first reps as a first-team cornerback in Monday morning’s practice.
Cortland Finnegan, who had started the previous two games at right cornerback and had a 51-yard interception return for a touchdown against New England, ran with the second unit.
Griffin had two interceptions against the Patriots in the game, but wasn’t taking his promotion as anything more than his turn to play with the starters.
“I ran with the ones, but nothing is set in stone. Everybody is getting an opportunity, and really I don’t know what is going on,” Griffin said. “I’m just doing what they tell me, but I don’t necessarily think it means anything. I think they’re just giving everybody an opportunity.”
Lamont Thompson, who also had an interception Friday night, was back with the first team at free safety and Stephen Tulloch started at middle linebacker as that rotation with Ryan Fowler continues.
Among the Titans out of the morning practice were LenDale White (knee/ankle), Reynaldo Hill (groin), Cooper Wallace (knee), Ben Troupe (foot), Tony Brown (soreness), Jonathan Evans (ankle), Albert Haynesworth and Benji Olson.
