INDIANAPOLIS _- -Ben Troupe is apparently finished as a Tennessee Titan.
Troupe’s agent Joel Segal said the former second-round pick from 2003 will be looking for a fresh start elsewhere when free agency opens Feb. 29.
Troupe was the Titans’ top choice as a rookie and caught 55 passes in 2005, but fell off the radar the past two seasons. He had just five receptions this past season after catching only 13 passes in 2006.
“We have had little to no contact with the Titans,” Troupe’s agent Joel Segal said. “Ben will head into free agency and he’s a talented player. We’ll find a system that fits for him, and he’ll be productive.”
The Titans are in the process of reshaping the tight end position, as Ben Hartsock is also a free agent, and it remains to be seen how seriously they will try to re-sign him.
The Titans are in pursuit of Alge Crumpler, who was recently released by the Atlanta Falcons, and could also use the draft to supplement the position.
