The 20th-ranked Vanderbilt women's basketball team has earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and will open postseason play on March 22 in Albuquerque, N.M., against Montana.
The Commodores (23-8, 11-3 Southeastern Conference) are making their 21st appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and their ninth consecutive trip.
As the No. 4 seed in the Spokane (Wash.) Region, the Commodores will face Montana in Saturday's first round. The winner of that game will face either No. 5 West Virginia or No. 12 New Mexico in Monday's second round. The winner of Monday's game will advance out of the Albuquerque pod to the Sweet 16 in Spokane, Wash., March 29-31.
Meanwhile, Tennessee was named the No. 1 seed in the Oklahoma City region and will start on March 23 against Oral Roberts in West Lafayette, Ind.
