Right tackle David Stewart signed the one-year, $2.017 million tender offer he received from the Tennessee Titans back in February.
Stewart, tendered at a first-round level, was originally a fourth-round pick of the team in 2005 from Mississippi State and has been a mainstay of the offensive line the past two seasons.
Both the Titans and Stewart are hopeful a long-term deal can eventually be reached.
“We’ve been talking a little bit. We’ve had a few conversations [about a new contract], but that’s really been about it,” Stewart’s agent Bus Cook said.
Left tackle Michael Roos, drafted in the second round by the Titans that same year, signed a six-year, $43 million package last month.
