Titans could lose out to Jaguars for Holt

The Tennessee Titans last best chance to add another veteran wide receiver could soon be gone.

ESPN.com [1], citing unnamed sources, indicated that Torry Holt was closing in on a deal with the Titans AFC South rival Jacksonville, though no contract had been completed, according to the report.
 

Holt's agent Kennard McGuire said in a text message to The City Paper that "no decision has been made," regarding any deal with Jacksonville.

Both the Jaguars and Titans had hosted Holt on visits recently. The Jaguars can likely promise Holt a starting position, given that they released Matt Jones after an off-the-field incident and lost Reggie Williams to free agency. Williams remains unsigned but his own off-field issues have caused the Jaguars to abstain from re-signing him.
 

Holt caught 64 passes last seasons for the 2-14 St. Louis Rams and was released after the rebuilding Rams refused to pay a $1.25 million roster bonus in mid-March.
 

The Titans have Justin Gage and recently signed Nate Washington as starters but are completely unproven beyond those two.
