Nashville Predators assistant general manager Paul Fenton is one of five finalists to become the general manager of the Minnesota Wild, according to a report [1] by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
The report further states, however, that Fenton is not one of the two who have emerged as front-runners and who have interviews scheduled this week with team owner Craig Leipold.
Fenton [2] has been with the Predators since their inaugural season and was promoted to his current position in 2003.
Leipold, the Predators’ first owner, asked for and received permission to interview both Fenton and Nashville’s director of hockey operations Mike Santos [3] as part of a process during which he met with nearly 30 applicants.
