Tennessee State sophomore Martinique Guice will put her perfect long jump record on the line this weekend when she competes at the NCAA Mideast Regional meet at Louisville.
Guice, a sophomore from Hendersonville, was undefeated outdoors this season and recently captured the Ohio Valley Conference title with a personal best of 20-7¾. That was more than two feet farther than in her season-opening victory at the Morehouse Relays in Atlanta (March 19-21) and the first time all spring she surpassed 20 feet.
The meet will take place Friday and Saturday with competition scheduled to begin 11 a.m. each day. The top five finishers in each event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, June 9-12 at Eugene, Oregon.
