Just when you thought it was safe to been seen in the company of Nelly again, the ghost of Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones’ past has become part of Vince Young’s ‘present.’
A new video [1], courtesy of TMZ.com, surfaced this week showing Titans quarterback Young “making it rain” at one of the rapper’s shows.
Relegated to a backup role and still smarting from several highly publicized events last year, Young had pledged to keep a low profile and to work hard to try and dislodge the starting job back from Kerry Collins.
But he probably should have exercised better judgment than that, given that his own former teammate Jones brought the term “making it rain” into the American vernacular with the infamous Las Vegas Minxx Gentleman’s Club incident that ultimately cost him his Titans career and a lot of cash.
While throwing the dollar bills into the air at the charity event obviously cannot be compared on the same level as Pacman’s stupidity that led to the Minxx melee and shooting, it still isn’t something you want to see from your once and supposed future quarterback.
I’ll give Young this much: He’s now saying the right things at least as he tries to salvage his career, but still he should exercise extreme caution in both the locker room and his private life.
Somehow, I can’t imagine Peyton Manning or Donovan McNabb “making it rain” during their off time.
