‘Sick bill’ needs a cure
We do need legislation to change the health insurance paradigm. We need for patients to be more responsible for paying their doctors and more responsible for their own health. We need to assume that adults are intelligent and can make wise decisions for themselves.
None of these things are in the Democrats’ bill. The more I read about this legislation, with page references and the document available for confirmation, the more I see this as a benevolent tyrant’s dream come true.
The frenzy by Democrats and President Obama to pass "health care reform" would otherwise be curious if not for the intention to keep the details fuzzy. From the Solons who brought us the $400 hammer, freezers full of cash and the GM bailout, I cannot see the wisdom in handing over total control of the "public welfare" to them.
While Medicare is currently successful, Medicaid has been a black hole. Handing supervision of my healthcare to CMS — the anonymous bureaucracy with absolute authority and more regard for rules than people — is madness.
The Democrats' "health care reform" is a sick bill. That's why there are angry citizens speaking out. Begin again with an open and honest discussion of the failings of both private sector and public sector healthcare. The Democrats' owe that to all Americans. After all, they control Congress and the White House.
