Jeffery Taylor scored 26 points and A.J. Ogilvy had 23 points and 16 rebounds as Vanderbilt’s men’s basketball team opened its five-game exhibition tour through Australia with a 107-84 victory over the Dandenong Rangers.
Taylor, a sophomore, made 10 of 13 field goal attempts, including three of five 3-pointers.
Jermaine Beal (10 points, six assists) was the only other Commodore in double figures for points, but sophomores Brad Tinsley, Festus Ezeli and Lance Goulbourne had nine each. Tinsley added seven assists, and Ezeli had 12 rebounds and three blocks.
VU led 31-14 after the first quarter and 54-30 at halftime
“I was really pleased with the effort,” coach Kevin Stallings said in blog on the Vanderbilt athletic department website. “We had some outstanding individual performances. AJ Ogilvy and Jeff Taylor played really well and Festus Ezeli gave us a great effort off the bench.
