Franklin Police have made an arrest in the brutal attack and stabbing Tuesday of a Franklin woman inside her 1502 Brookwood Ave. home.
Deborah Williams, 50, told police that a black man armed with a knife entered her home through an unlocked back door, then beat and stabbed her.
Williams' alleged attacker, Charles Johnson, of Franklin, turned himself in to police early Wednesday. Johnson told authorities that he was an invited guest in Williams' home when an argument prompted the attack.
Williams, who suffered a stab wound and broken bones, is listed in stable condition at a local hospital, police said.
Johnson was booked into the Williamson County Jail on aggravated assault and attempted criminal homicide charges, police said.
Johnson, a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history, is being held without bond.
