Metro Health Department out of swine flu shots

Although no shortage is expected, the Metro Health Department is currently out of H1N1 influenza injectable vaccine.

Limited quantities and types of the vaccine come in with each shipment, Brian Todd, spokesperson for the Metro Health Department, said in a release. Health officials will expand access to the H1N1 injectable vaccine as it becomes available.

More than 130,000 doses of H1N1 vaccine could arrive in Nashville in the coming weeks and months.

But until those shipments arrive, the health department will offer vaccine as supplies allow.

On Wednesday, the health department will offer only the free H1N1 FluMist at its walk-in clinic, located at 311 23rd Ave. N., from 7 a.m.- 4 p.m. The FluMist is only offered to those ages 2-49 years of age, without underlying health conditions, and not pregnant.
