Metro Police and the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who robbed Wachovia Bank’s 618 Thompson Lane branch on Monday afternoon.
The suspect approached the teller at noon and implied that he had a weapon. He was given cash and fled, police said. He may have gotten into a small black car, possibly a Honda.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his early 30s, approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall with a medium build. He entered the bank wearing a black coat with the hood pulled up and faded jeans.
Anyone who has information concerning the robbery is urged to contact Detective Keith Sutherland with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
