The University of Tennessee confirmed in a release Wednesday afternoon that the NCAA is investigating potential violations in the recruiting of football prospects.
The investigation centers on the actions of members of Orange Pride [1], a student admissions group.
“We are concerned about the alleged activities of some members of the Orange
Pride,” the statement, released by the Office of Communications, Marketing, Media and Internal Relations, said. “Both university and NCAA guidelines are a part of the Orange Pride¹s orientation and training. If those guidelines were violated, we will take
appropriate action.
“Because of federal student privacy regulations, we can¹t comment further.”
News of the investigation was first reported [2] by The New York Times, which called the process “wide-ranging.”
