Speed and wet roads may be to blame in a wreck Friday that claimed the life of a 59-year-old Antioch woman, Metro Police said.
Police said the woman’s Toyota Yaris crashed into the back of a flatbed wrecker on Old Hickory Boulevard near Cane Ridge High School.
The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
A preliminary investigation shows that the Bailey’s Wrecker Service flatbed was traveling west on Old Hickory Boulevard when it went out of control on the wet pavement, police said.
According to police, the wrecker crossed the eastbound lane, traveled off the roadway and hit a rock wall. It then rotated back into the eastbound lane where it collided with the Toyota.
The wrecker driver, Randall Hall, 40, of Hendersonville, was not injured.
Crash investigators report that speed too fast for road/weather conditions on the part of Hall appears to be the contributing factor.
