A Clay County grand jury indicted a former Metro Police officer on two counts of aggravated sexual battery of a victim younger than 13.
James Stackhouse with an indictment on two counts of aggravated sexual battery March 1, according to Clay County Assistant District Attorney Mark Gore. Stackhouse bonded out of jail and is set for arraignment on March 29.
Stackhouse was a 17-year veteran of the Metro Police Department when he resigned in August 2009 , following allegations he had inappropriate relations with a child. The incident reportedly took place on Dale Hollow Lake in Clay County, and that county’s sheriff’s office conducted the investigation.
Immediately following reports of the officer’s alleged conduct Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron said the department confronted Stackhouse and he submitted his resignation the next day.
At the time of his resignation, Stackhouse was a field training officer at the Hermitage Precinct.
