A manhunt is under way for a Franklin man after police said he stabbed both his brother, who later died, and his mother early Thursday morning.
When Franklin police responded to a domestic disturbance call just before 2 a.m. Thursday at 175 Broadwell Circle, they found 20-year-old Joshua Knapp lying in the road and his mother Dian Bridges, 44, critically injured at a neighbor's house, where she ran to call for help.
Police are now searching for Jesse Knapp, 23, whom they believed repeatedly stabbed his brother and mother. Knapp is a 6-foot, 7-inch white male weighing 220 pounds and is considered armed and dangerous.
He may be driving a tan 2004 Jeep Wrangler with the license plate 513-XKJ. Police urge anyone who sees Knapp or the vehicle to call 911.
According to the Franklin Police Department, Joshua Knapp died from his wounds at 8:15 Thursday morning. Dian Bridges' condition has been upgraded to stable. She is now talking to detectives.
