"We are excited about our game date and time this year, as it offers out of town fans a great opportunity to travel to Nashville for a long weekend and provides a great ratings opportunity for our new title sponsor, Franklin American Mortgage Company while maximizing exposure for the city,” Scott Ramsey, bowl president and CEO said in a release announcing the move.
For the fifth straight year, the game will include teams from the Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference
The first Music City Bowl was played in 1998. Since then, according to the Nashville Sports Council, it has generated $165 million in direct economic impact.
