A convicted felon who was free on bond for aggravated assault allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint Sunday morning in parking lot at 6202 Charlotte Pike.
Mario Thompson, 25, was identified as the gunman who allegedly approached the victim who was selling merchandise in the parking lot of a west Nashville business, Metro police said.
Thompson asked about a 46-inch Vizio TV that was for sale. After learning the price, the victim said Thompson began loading the TV in his car. When the victim confronted him about paying for the TV, Thompson allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim’s head and ordered him to stay away from the car.
The victim said Thompson drove away in a 2008 burgundy four-door Suzuki sedan.
Thompson, who is last known to have lived on Rice Road, has previous felony cocaine possession, aggravated assault and attempted aggravated robbery convictions.
At the time of the robbery, Thompson was free on $10,000 bond for aggravated assault after he allegedly beat a man Feb. 24 on Brick Church Pike, police said. Thompson also has outstanding warrants in another incident charging vehicle theft, domestic assault and an order of protection violation.
An aggravated robbery warrant was issued in this case, police said.
Anyone who has information concerning Thompson’s whereabouts is urged to contact West Precinct detectives at 862-7385 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
