The family of Rebecca Pruitt is offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for her murder, Metro police announced Wednesday.
Pruitt, 58, was discovered by family members inside her Bull Run Road home in the Scottsboro community just before 10 a.m. on July 9. Relatives had last spoken with Pruitt around 8 p.m. the night before she was found. There were signs of an apparent struggle inside her home.
North Precinct detectives said they believe prescription painkillers were being sold from Pruitt’s home.
The $4,000 reward is in addition to the $1,000 offered by Crime Stoppers, which expires on the one-year anniversary of Pruitt’s murder, July 9, 2010.
Anyone who has information concerning Pruitt’s homicide is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES).
