Families interested in giving their daughters the opportunity to take innovative, high-quality courses from some of the best independent girls’ school teachers in the country without having to pay the hefty tuition fees now have that chance. The Online School for Girls is opening its virtual doors to any girl, anywhere in the world starting with the 2010-2011 school year.
"The Online School for Girls was founded with the mission to bring the best online education to girls around the world," said Molly Rumsey, Interim Director of the Online School for Girls. “We are thrilled to be able to open up the opportunities to all girls next year, so that now, no matter where a girl lives, she can have access to incredibly high quality courses, at affordable costs, and designed for the ways that she learns best.”
Tuition will be $650 for each semester course, and $1,300 for each year-long course.
Founded in June of 2009 by four of the country’s top independent girls’ schools — Harpeth Hall School, Holton-Arms School, Laurel School and Westover School — the Online School for Girls admitted only girls from member schools for the first year. After a successful 2009-2010 school year with 60 girls enrolled in six courses, the Online School for Girls’ is opening its virtual schoolhouse doors to high achieving girls from around the world.
