Police arrested an 18-year-old former Pearl Cohn High School student and charged him with three counts of harassment for allegedly emailing death threats to three of the school’s administrators.
An investigation by Metro police with help from Metro Schools’ Information Technology staff identified Reginald Bowers as the person who sent the emails Monday from a John Doe Yahoo account on a computer at the Cohn Adult Learning Center. Bowers had been expelled from Pearl Cohn earlier in the school year.
Police said Bowers admitted to sending the emails because he was upset over being expelled. Detectives did not believe, however, that Bowers actually planned to harm any of those threatened.
Bowers was booked and released from jail on $5,000 bond.
