Police believe drug activity led to Wednesday night’s shooting that left one man dead and his brother wounded.
Two suspects, described only as black men with dreadlocks, are suspected of shooting Michael A. Johnson, 36, inside his 1217 Hillside Ave. apartment. Police said the suspects entered the apartment at 11:20 p.m. and opened fire, also shooting Johnson’s brother Tykee Holloway, 28.
Johnson died after he was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Holloway was treated for his gunshot wound and released.
Inside Johnson’s apartment, police said they found a recording studio, illegal drugs and two handguns.
Police urge anyone with information about the shooting to contact West Precinct Investigations at 862-7385 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Those who contact Crime Stoppers qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
