The Nashville Predators’ six-game 2010 preseason schedule will include two games against the Washington Capitals, the team that had the best record during the 2009-10 regular season.
The presence of the Alexander Ovechkin-led Capitals represents a change in the the Predators’ preseason scheduling. The last four years they have faced only Columbus, Carolina and Atlanta prior to the start of the regular season.
That change means Nashville will face only Eastern Conference teams in the preseason this year.
The Predators will open the preseason Sept. 23 at home against the Carolina Hurricanes and then will travel two Carolina for a return contest the next night.
The Capitals will be at Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 25, a Saturday night. The final home preseason game will be Sept. 27 against Atlanta.
Nashville and Washington have met twice in preseason play, once in the inaugural season of 1998 at Richmond, Va., and again the following season at Biloxi, Miss.
Individual tickets for all preseason contests will go on sale in September.
