The family of a Bordeaux woman found her badly beaten body Tuesday afternoon in the home she shared with her boyfriend, Metro police said.
Asia Wade, 30, was dead and four of her young children, the oldest only 9, were alone in the house with the body when family members arrived. They found her body after forcing entry into her locked bedroom. Her car was also missing.
Family members came to check on the Wade when they learned that her children — ages 9, 6, 5 and 4 — did not go to daycare. Police said the children told their caregiver who stopped by the house Tuesday morning that they wouldn’t be going because their mother hadn’t dressed them.
Wade shared the 1609 Elizabeth Road home, near Hydes Ferry Road, with Demeko Duckworth.
Police said Duckworth was likely involved in the Monday night shooting on Hillside Avenue in south Nashville. Wade’s cousin, Clarence Goins, died Tuesday afternoon from a gunshot wound to the head that he received in the incident.
Duckworth has ties to Arkansas, and police believe he may be traveling in Wade’s car, a red 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo bearing license number 707-TMN.
He is wanted for questioning in connection to both cases.
Anyone with information on Duckworth or the victim’s car should call the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600.
