Metro police say they may have a serial bank robber on their hands.
An unidentified man robbed Regions Bank at 15580 Old Hickory Blvd. in south Nashville Tuesday at 1:20 p.m., police said. Surveillance video shows the same man attempted to rob Fifth Third Bank’s 495 Old Hickory Blvd. branch at 1:10 p.m.
Police say he is the same man suspected in the robbery of US Bank’s 1711 Broadway branch on Thursday.
In today's cases, the suspect entered the Fifth Third Bank branch, approached an employee and fled before getting any money. He then went to the Regions branch, presented a robbery demand note and indicated that he had a gun. After the teller gave him cash, the robber fled to a nearby wooded area.
Police described the suspect as a white man with short brown hair and tattoos on his left arm extending from shoulder to wrist. He is approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. In Tuesday’s robbery, he was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and eyeglasses.
Anyone who has information concerning the robbery is urged to contact Detective Keith Sutherland with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
