Tennessee seems to have kept its well-qualified role as the Volunteer State. Gov. Bredesen signed into law on May 27 Public Chapter 983, which included the HB-3768 and SB-3740. Both branches voted yes for each of these branch bills with “no” votes and only one not voting in each branch.
This bill denies the Sharia Law from being recognized in Tennessee courts. The Sharia Law is referred to as "Islamic Law."
Islamic laws have been accepted by several nations in Europe, and some were looking forward for it to be accepted in the United States.
Hopefully, the Tennessee legislature has set a great example for the rest of the states of our union to deny foreign law in our courts.
The Volunteer State has once again volunteered to lead the way.
