Metro police detectives are working to identify the gunman who robbed two Walgreens pharmacies of pain medication Thursday evening, department officials said Friday.
The first robbery occurred at 5:50 p.m. at the Walgreens located at 2819 Nolensville Pike, followed by a second hold-up at the 2611 Franklin Pike Walgreens at 8:10 p.m. In both cases, police said the suspect walked to the pharmacy counter and, at gunpoint, demanded pain medication. He fled in a mid-90s white or silver sedan, possibly a Ford Crown Victoria.
Police said the suspect is a white man likely in his mid-20s with brown hair and a beard. He is approximately 5-foot-10 with a medium to heavy build. During the first robbery, he wore a ball cap, a long-sleeve black shirt and long light blue denim shorts. In the second robbery, he wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and a gray knit hat.
