The main Davidson County Clerk’s Office at 523 Mainstream Drive in Metro Center will be closed Friday as staff move to permanent space in the Fulton Complex’s Howard Office Building at 700 Second Ave. S.
The new office, to be located on the first floor in the Howard structure, will open Monday, Dec. 20, and maintain business hours Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The move is part of Metro government’s plan to move several offices to the newly renovated Howard Office Building, located in Rutledge Hill. For the first time, the clerk’s office will be housed in the same building as the offices of trustee and property assessor, the other two Metro entities that provide service to the general public.
“The new offices will allow our staff to serve the public in a convenient manner,” John Arriola, county clerk, said in a release. “ This space is centrally located and easily accessible from the interstate. It’s also a benefit to be close to other government offices.”
The Davidson County Clerk’s Office offers various services including motor vehicle registration, business licenses, marriage licenses, hotel tax collection, notary registration, driver’s license renewals, passports and liquor by the drink licenses. In addition to the main clerk’s office, there are five satellite offices for motor vehicle services. For more information, visit www.nashvilleclerk.com .
