Metro police officers, checking parked vehicles downtown, arrested four men and confiscated four guns early Sunday morning after allegedly spotting one of the guns in plain sight inside a car.
Officers waited nearby and later stopped Loquicious Hunter, 23, and Jermon Battle, 27, as well as brothers William and Edgar McGinnis as they tried to enter the Chevrolet Impala where police said they spotted a semi-automatic handgun.
Police said a search of the vehicle turned up two 9 mm handguns and a 38-caliber revolver. They also found a 22-caliber pistol in Battle’s front pocket, according to police.
Officers issued state citations for unlawful weapon possession to Hunter, Battle and Edgar McGinnis, 18. They charged William McGinnis, 19, with unlawful weapon possession and marijuana possession. He is out of jail on $12,500 bond.
