The bustling curve at Murphy Road and 46th Avenue is about to get busier, with a new restaurant and bar called Neighbors of Sylvan Park opening as early as May.
Billed as a neighborhood spot serving gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads, beer and wine, “Neighbors” will join McCabe Pub, The Local Taco, Park Café and Café Nonna as evening drink and dining options on the same stretch in Sylvan Park.
“It’s a neighborhood place,” said Jody Myers, the establishment’s owner, who is also a nearby resident. “We’re going to have signs and old maps of the area hanging on the walls. It’s going to feel neighborly. That’s what it’s really all about.”
“Neighbors” will take the place of property formerly housing boutique dog store at 4425-A Murphy Road. A covered deck has been installed at the new establishment’s rear.
Myers, who has a background at the old Blue Moon Lagoon off Robertson Road, said he hasn’t finalized the restaurant’s hours, but said from Monday through Wednesday it would be open only during the evening. Smoking won’t be permitted inside.
Myers is to go before the Metro beer board later this week to receive a beer license for “Neighbors.”
