The 11th — and final — Jeff Fisher and Friends charity softball game will take place at 7 p.m. on June 18 at Greer Stadium, organizers announced Thursday.
Fisher, the Tennessee Titans head coach for 16 years, has headlined the event every year since its inception. Participants have included members of the Titans and other professional sports stars, as well as top names from the entertainment industry.
Fisher plans to end his affiliation with the game, which benefits local charities, after having agreed to step down as Titans coach in late January.
"This final game is an opportunity for everyone in Tennessee to say ‘thank you’ to Coach Fisher for all that he has done to give back to the community over the years while raising money for several worthy charities,” said John Gauder, market vice-president for title sponsor Comcast.
Pre-game events will be available when gates open at 6 p.m. A fireworks display will follow the contest.
Tickets are on sale now — reserved seats $15, general admission $10 — at the Nashville Sounds ticket office, by phone at (615) 690-4487 or online at nashvillesounds.com. A $1 discount is available to those with a KrogerPlus card or a valid military or student identification.
“The game is always a night of family fun and festivities,” Sounds General Manager Brad Tammen said. “But this last event is a perfect way for fans to honor Jeff for all that he has done over the years for the community.”
