Metro police have arrested a Brown Pride gang member whom detectives believe shot a 15-year-old rival gang member outside of a Murfreesboro Pike McDonald’s on Wednesday.
Detectives arrested Christian Gutierrez, 19, at a home on Winthorne Drive Wednesday evening. Gutierrez, according to police, was indicted in the Oct. 16, 2010, shooting death of Henry Harrison and is wanted for questioning in connection to the February 2009 shooting death of Melissa Ann Tyler Ramirez.
Wednesday’s shooting occurred at 1:50 p.m. outside the McDonald’s at 1181 Murfreesboro Pike, police said. Gutierrez, a passenger in a Honda Civic, apparently had a confrontation with the 15-year-old and two others standing with him prior to the shooting.
Police said later in the afternoon, the driver of the Honda turned up at the Central Precinct to report what happened earlier. Police did not immediately charge the driver.
As of Wednesday evening, the 15-year-old was listed in stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
