Mayor Karl Dean will be sworn in for his second term Friday, Sept. 23, at an inauguration also featuring the swearing in of Vice Mayor Diane Neighbors and members of the new Metro Council.
The inauguration, held at the public square that fronts the downtown Metro Courthouse, begins at 11 a.m.
Performers will include the Nashville School of the Arts Madrigal Singers, according to mayor’s office spokeswoman Bonna Johnson.
She added there will be an “artist guest” that the mayor’s office declined to announce beforehand.
During Dean’s re-election campaign, country singer and onetime American Idol contestant Danny Gokey appeared with Dean at a campaign event.
