Tennessee State forward Kenny Moore has been suspended indefinitely, head coach John Cooper announced on Tuesday.
Moore, a 6-foot-7, 236-pound senior, averaged 8.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in six games for the Tigers (3-4).
“Kenny Moore has been suspended indefinitely due to conduct detrimental to the team,” Cooper said in a statement. “He is a strong young man and has accomplished a lot during his short tenure here at Tennessee State. We will continually work with Kenny to help him get back on track. Kenny is a bright young man, who will graduate in December and that should be of utmost importance for him at this time.”
He has started in five games. He did not play in the Tigers’ most recent contest — a 69-64 victory over Morgan State on Saturday at the Las Vegas Invitational.
Last year, he was named to the Ohio Valley Conference’s all-newcomer and second team after averaging a team-high 14.5 points and finishing second with 6.9 rebounds a game. The Philadelphia native transferred to TSU after stops at two junior colleges.
TSU hosts Middle Tennessee State at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
