The former legal counsel for Metro’s Industrial Development Board has been indicted on a felony charge of property theft of more than $60,000.
Bobby Dean Davis, 60, is free on $25,000 bond following his indictment in a case that was presented directly to a Davidson County grand jury. Davis was booked and released from jail on Tuesday, according to Susan Niland, spokeswoman for District Attorney General Torry Johnson.
Davis resigned from the board in early 2009 amid claims he held $150,000  from a land purchase option agreement in his personal account. One month later, the board handed over meeting minutes , audit results and other materials to the district attorney’s office for investigation.
A date for Davis’ arraignment hearing had not yet been set. Davis could not be immediately reached for comment.
