Martin Erat had a goal and an assist as the Nashville Predators continued their mastery of the Columbus Blue Jackets with a 3-0 victory Thursday at Columbus.
The teams conclude their six-game season series Monday at Bridgestone Arena. Nashville has earned nine of a possible 10 points in the five games thus far and has won 30 of the last 38 meetings, a stretch that dates back to the 2006-07 season.
Erat gave the Predators a 1-0 lead when he scored at 11:08 of the second period, He found Mike Fisher at the far post for an easy power play goal 2:03 later. Fisher’s goal was his ninth of the season, his third on the power play.
It was Erat’s 10th multi-point game and his fourth in the last seven contests. The 30-year-old forward raised his season total to 32 points (11 goals and 21 assists), one shy of Shea Weber for the team lead.
Weber (10 goals, 23 assists) capped the scoring with an empty-net goal.
Sergei Kostitsyn had an assist on Erat’s goal, which gave him five points in the last five games.
Pekka Rinne tied his season-high with 38 saves for his fourth shutout. He improved to 25-11-4 on the season with his sixth straight victory and ninth in his last 10 appearances. He joined Tomas Vokoun as the only goalies in franchise history to win 25 games or more four times.
Nashville’s next game is 7 p.m. Saturday at home against the Chicago Blackhawks.
• Prior to the contest, Nashville claimed forward Brandon Yip  off waivers from Colorado. The 26-year-old who has been limited to 10 games this season because of groin and arm injuries did not join the team in time to be in the lineup against Columbus.
• Jerred Smithson was activated off injured reserve and played for the first time in six games. He had been sidelined by a lower body injury.
Defenseman Ryan Suter missed his third game with an upper body injury.
