Lamar Divens, whose college career included time with both Vanderbilt and Tennessee State, signed a one-year, free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday.
Divens, a 6-foot-3, 343-pound defensive tackle, represents the latest attempt by the team to add bulk to its defensive line.
He has spent time with three different NFL franchises over the past four seasons and spent the final month of last season on the practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he worked with new Titans defensive assistant Keith Millard.
He played three games for Baltimore in 2008 and two more in 2010. He spent all of 2009 on injured reserve with a hip injury.
The Ravens released him at the end of training camp last year. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent with San Diego in 2008. The Chargers released him, and he signed with Baltimore.
Divens is a product of Lincoln County High School who started his college career with Vanderbilt and finished with Tennessee State.
