Vanderbilt snapped its losing skid just in time for the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Christina Foggie scored 18 points as the Commodores breezed by last-place Alabama for a 67-54 victory Sunday in their regular-season finale at Memorial Gymnasium.
Vanderbilt (21-8, 9-7), which had lost two straight and three of four, opens the tournament as the No. 7 seed and plays 10th-seeded Mississippi State at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Bridgestone Arena. The winner plays No. 2 Tennessee on Friday.
The Commodores never trailed against Alabama, led by 17 at halftime and went up 21 when Foggie sunk a 3-pointer with 5:49 left.
Jasmine Lister scored 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had seven assists. Stephanie Holzer scored 12 points and had eight rebounds.
Vanderbilt honored its lone senior, forward Jordan Coleman. She made her first start of the season and scored two points, grabbed four rebounds and had two assists.
Jasmine Robinson led Alabama (12-18, 2-14) with 16 points.
