A bevy of local college basketball players headline the fifth annual Music City All-Star Classic.
The all-star basketball game will be played on April 28 at Belmont’s Curb Events Center and will feature seniors from local and regional universities.
Among the participants are Mick Hedgepeth and Scott Saunders (Belmont), Kenny Moore and Will Peters (Tennessee State), Dee Bost (Mississippi State), Ivan Aska (Murray State), Gerald Robinson (Georgia) and Kenny Gabriel (Auburn).
Also competing will be Trevecca Nazarene guard Michael France, who totaled 2,019 career points and was named the NCCAA Player of the Year. Cumberland University sends a trio of standouts down from Lebanon – Michael Sweat, Kyle Upton and Andrew Ayodeji.
Plus, NAIA All-American James Justice of Martin Methodist will compete. The 5-foot-9 guard from Memphis jumped into the national spotlight when he stole the show and won the college slam dunk contest with his amazing vertical leap.
In addition, players from UT-Chattanooga, Tennessee Tech, Freed-Hardeman and Lee University will take part.
The event also features a slam-dunk contest and 3-point shooting contest and benefits the charity Soles 4 Souls. Tickets for the 6 p.m. tip-off are $15 and $10 with a student ID and may be purchased at the door or online at www.ticketsnashville.com [1].
