In three weeks, for the first time in any Division I sport, the Middle Tennessee area will host a national championship.
And volunteers are still needed to make sure the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship runs smoothly.
The four-day tournament runs from May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin. School officials hope to have between 150-175 volunteers each day and currently are short of that number.

Vanderbilt is one of 24 teams competing in the Central Regional on May 10-12 in Columbus, Ohio. In order to reach the national championship, the Commodores must finish in the top eight of the team standings. The top two individuals not associated with the eight teams from each region will advance to the national championship.
Vanderbilt is the No. 4 seed in its regional and is playing in its 13 th consecutive NCAA regional. The Commodores tied for 10th at the 2011 national championship.
